Top Seven Sci-Fi Hottest Actors
Top Seven Lists
Why seven? We could make up a crazy theory about how we love prime numbers here, or of our intense respect for Terry Nation's vision in Blake's 7, but that would just be a lie. Basically it's just that we're too lazy to do all the work of a top ten list. And since 70% is still passing for most schools, we went with that.
Hottest Actors
The following opinions are by Holly Gastgeb
Number Seven - Ben Browder
Born: December 11, 1962
Notable role: Cameron Mitchell, Stargate SG-1
Notable role: John Crichton, FarScape
Ben Browder charmed the pants off women with his witty sarcasm as John Crichton, a man who was lost in outer space with no idea how to find his way home. Even though his shipmates did not always get his humor, his witty pulp culture references and mischievousness made it hard not to love him. He later had big shoes to fill when he took over the command of SG-1, but did so with ease. Browder's character on SG-1 was not comical like Crichton, but his loyalty, intelligence, and Type A personality made him quite sexy.
Whether he is being funny or serious, Browder captures your attention and makes you want to watch more. And anyone who can be sexy while acting with Muppets deserves to be on a Top 7 list.
Number Six - Jason Momoa
Born: August 1, 1979
Notable role: Ronon Dex, Stargate: Atlantis
Notable role: Khal Drogo, Game of Thrones
Notable role: Conan, Conan the Barbarian
Jason Momoa was genetically blessed with a body that makes him ideal for the gruff roles he has played over the years. Starting with Ronon, a badass Satedan soldier who, despite his rough appearance is quite loyal and caring and most recently Khal Drogo, a barbarian king with a soft-side for a certain young lady. And speaking of barbarians, we can't forget his role as Conan. Momoa has that wonderful balance of rough yet sentimental that makes ladies swoon.
Whatever Momoa is doing, he is doing it right. He can be my sun and stars anyday. Just sayin.
Number Five - James Marsters
Born: August 20, 1962
Notable role: Barnabas Greeley, Caprica
Notable role: Captain John Hart, Torchwood
Notable role: Spike, Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel
Notable role: Braniac/Milton Fine, Smallville
Yes, I know, Buffy and Angel are not Science Fiction. However, Marsters' role as the oh so sexy Spike is what got women drooling over him. However, his roles as Captain John Hart, a rogue Time Agent on Torchwood, and Barnabas Greeley, a terrorist leader on Caprica more than qualify him to be on this list.
No matter what role he plays, or the color of his hair, Marsters is one hot, talented actor we hope to keep seeing. And he got to kiss John Barrowman! Lucky guy!
Number Four - Harrison Ford
Born: July 13, 1942
Notable role: Han Solo, Star Wars Episodes IV-VI
Notable role: Rick Deckard, Blade Runner
What girl growing up in the Star Wars era did not have a crush on Han Solo? And what boy did not want to be either him or Luke Skywalker? A list of the sexiest Science Fiction actors would not be complete without Harrison Ford. Han Solo was handsome, smooth, and witty...even his cockiness was attractive. Harrison Ford went on to be an amazing actor with many compelling roles, from Indiana Jones to Jack Ryan. We also hear that he is going to be in the movie adaptation of Ender's Game. WOOT!
Harrison Ford is one of those actors whose age doesn't matter; he is still a sexy, handsome man who continues to excel. Although, casting him as Indy ONE MORE TIME may be a bit of a stretch.
Number Three - John Barrowman
Born: March 11, 1967
Notable role: Captain Jack Harkness, Doctor Who/Torchwood
John Barrowman is one of those guys who is charming and sexy no matter what he does, wears, or says. Plus he has a smile that could melt anyone's heart. Barrowman played Captain Jack Harkness, a sexy time traveler and man of action. His cunning wit, flirtatiousness, intelligence, and drop-dead good looks made every moment with him utterly captivating. Plus he was omnisexual, so anyone could have a piece of the action!
Even though Barrowman has only had one major Science Fiction role, it created such a fandom that he deserves his spot at number three on this list.
Number Two - David Tennant
Born: April 18, 1971
Notable role: The Doctor, Doctor Who
Notable role: Barty Crouch Junior, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
David Tennant is best known as "Number Ten", the tenth Doctor on Doctor Who. Even though there have been many amazing Doctors, Tennant stands out as one of the best. As The Doctor, Tennant had the winning combination of intelligence, wit, and smashing good looks, that made all the ladies want to be his next companion. Who didn't wish that The Doctor was whispering in their ear instead of Rose's or that the TARDIS would show up in their yard with a sexy David Tennant inside?
No matter what role Tennant plays, his wit, smile, and personality make him super sexy. Plus, he looks absolutely delicious in a suit and tie. The man even looks hawt in guyliner (if you don't believe me watch Fright Night, you will NOT be sorry).
Number One - Nathan Fillion
Born: March 27, 1971
Notable role: Malcolm Reynolds, Firefly/Serenity
Notable role: Captain Hammer, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
Notable role: Caleb, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Admit it, if you know Firefly, you wanted to be Captain Tightpants. Nathan Fillion has a certain charisma that makes every role memorable, whether it be a captain of a starship, a superhero, or a mystery writer. His crooked smile and endless wit with perfect delivery catch your attention and keep you wanting more. On Firefly, Fillion played a compassionate, loyal captain who often shot first and asked questions later, just like Han Solo. His dashing good looks added to his personality making him oh so swoon-worthy. Fillion's role in Dr. Horrible also showcased Fillion's charisma, but this time as an over-the-top superhero. No matter how silly Fillion is, he is still sexy. He is THAT damn good.
Even though Firefly was cancelled (grumble grumble), Fillion has found his niche as a charming, attractive, witty actor who now plays the role of Richard Castle, a mystery writer. I am pretty sure that the Gods rolled a 18 charisma when they made Nathan Fillion. And charisma = sexy. Therefore, it should be no surprise that he is number one on this list.
