As readers, we explore with the writer a vision of the future or of an alternate reality, one in which we cheer for our favorite heroes, celebrate their victories, and mourn their losses. All from the comfort of our beds, reading desks, bathtubs, and park benches.
There is nothing unequaled in this universe to the human imagination. Books are the gymnasiums used to exercise those visions. It is the very craft of these artisans of the written word which inspires that imagination. The books are but a glimpse into their minds, but what a beautiful thing that is. For they show use that even the darkest, most dystopian universe must hold some beauty.
