Robert Silverberg

The American author, Robert Silverberg, is best known for his Science Fiction writing, but has also written historical non-fiction and softcore porn.

Silverberg enjoyed reading from an early age and began submitting stories to Science Fiction magazines in his early teenage years. He graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in English Literature and decided to make writing his life's work.

Silverberg's first published novel was a children's book titled Revolt on Alpha C. He wrote Science Fiction novels off and on throughout his writing career and even came out of retirement in the 1980's to return to writing. Silverberg collaborated with a number of other Science Fiction authors including Randall Garrett and Isaac Asimov.

Silverberg has won multiple Hugo and Nebula awards and was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 1999. He was also named a Grand Master by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America in 2004. This definitely makes him one of the Cream of the Crop.
